Precautions

  • Double-check how much money the recruiting agency is asking for; and ask questions about costs covered by the foreign employer (i.e., visa, work permit, air ticket);
  • Ask for a written document (service contract/labour contract).
  • Make sure you understand all the conditions of the employment contract before you sign it;
  • Check if your employment contract stipulates the type of work to be done
  • Never sign on a blank piece of paper.
  • Sign documents yourself. Do not allow the agents sign the forms on your’ behalf. This will place you at risk at the destination when immigration officials find the signatures do not match the signature in the passport.
